Annamacharya, a fifteenth century saint composer was a staunch devotee of Lord Venkateswara. He composed several thousand kirtanas in praise of the Lord. These kirtanas are popular even today and often sang, set to light melodious music. The lyrics were his way of showing devotion of Lord Venkateswara and as an extension, a spritual way of life.
Padma Bhushan Dr. Sripada Pinakapani, is an acknowledged maestro in composing music in the Carnatic tradition. He has composed music for meny kirtanas of Annamacharya.
The Malladi Brothers Sreerama Prasad and Ravikumar, winners of several awards from All India Radio, for Classical and Light Classical music, have stepped off the beaten track by singing Annamacharya?s immotal lyrics in Classical Carnatic music style set to music composed by Dr. Pinakapani.
